KT Williams
Coming out of the Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates Program, KT values a more holistic and collaborative approach to teaching and looks forward to bridging her vast experiences with dance and mindful movement into her Pilates teaching.
KT is a contemporary dancer, choreographer, and dance educator in the Chicago area. She grew up dancing at the Academy of Movement and Music in Oak Park, IL, and began taking mat Pilates classes to supplement her dance training during high school. She received a BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and more recently, earned her MFA in Dance/Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. KT is a practitioner of Safety Release Technique, a somatic movement application created and developed by B.J. Sullivan,
which focuses on the spine, breath, movement efficiency, and freeing frozen tension. She is currently on faculty at the College of DuPage dance program and teaches contemporary dance classes and workshops across the Chicago area. Movement has always been an integral part of her life and she applies somatic perspectives into her embodied teaching practices.
