FAQ’S
Who is Pilates for?
Pilates is for everyone! At Sandy Greiner Pilates we believe Pilates is for all ages, bodies, and fitness levels. We know that when it comes to movement, one size does not fit all. Your session is personalized for your goals.
Is Pilates safe for beginners?
Yes! Our instructors personalize your initial two private sessions by guiding you through the foundational Pilates exercises, learning about your fitness goals, and assessing your strength, flexibility, and mobility. We then guide you to an appropriate semiprivate class or create an individual progression plan in private sessions to help you reach your goals faster.
What equipment do you use?
We use Balanced Body equipment which is top of the line for a Pilates workout.
What if I have a pre-existing injury or condition?
Our certified instructors have expertise in developing condition related plans, keeping an eagle eye on alignment, biomechanics and just the right number of repetitions to gain strength without risking injury. We support clients with a wide range of strength and mobility needs including orthopedic conditions, neuromuscular retraining, pre- and postnatal recovery, osteoporosis, spial fusions, joint replacements, lower back issues and more.
Is Pilates safe during pregnancy?
Pilates is a safe, gentle, and powerful method of simultaneously strengthening your body for labor and delivery, while supporting a healthy range of motion and a steady mind. You and your baby will head into your big day calm, strong, and centered. Pilates during pregnancy can prevent injury, maintain pelvic floor tone, support posture and alignment, and increase balance to help you maintain and ever-changing center of gravity.
I am already an athlete – how can Pilates help me?
We blend classical and contemporary Pilates with current movement science to help you accomplish your fitness goals. Our certified instructors have expertise in developing sports specific protocols to improve your strength, flexibility, and mobility that will have lasting benefits in your other sports or exercise routines.
What kind of equipment do you use?
In our studio, we utilize the full stack of professional Pilates equipment such as the reformer, Arcus bar, Wunda chair, Oov, tower, ladder barrel, and arc barrel. Our instructors maintain a high attention to form and personalized modifications.
Where is the studio located?
We have a convenient location with great parking! We are located off the highway in Northfield at 400 North Central Ave Suite 2 at the intersection of Willow and Happ Road. We are in the same building as the Chase Bank on the lower level.
What should I wear to Pilates?
We recommend wearing a fitted and breathable outfit such as a t-shirt and leggings. In addition, we recommend grip socks to help hold your poses and add stability during the exercises. If you do not have grip socks, we have them available for purchase in our dressing room!
Can I gift someone Pilates sessions?
Yes! The New Client Package makes a great holiday, birthday or thank you gift! You can also go to our pricing and packages page, choose any package, and follow the “Gift this to a friend” link.
